Dreams can become actual plans, depending on if it is actually possible, because if the dream your striving for isn’t something that is within the realm of possibility, then it isn’t something that should be a priority. Though if it is possible to achieve, then it is something that can be planned for.

The Forgotten heroes, 138-157
There isn’t anything I can predict about it, since I am almost at the end of it
I don’t like nor dislike it, because I don’t like reading books
There isn’t anything in the book I’m reading that can be connected
Belonging
To belong means that a person feels safe, loved, and cared about somewhere. It is very important for a person to belong, because if a person doesn’t feel like they belong it could lead them down the path of feeling depressed, and lonely. They also may get jealous of other people, or they could also feel like they don’t fit in.
Anticipation statements
“sometimes a person has to break the law to make sure justice is served,” (rated it as a 9.99) because its possible that you could be attacked by someone trying to kill you, and the cops may not be able to get there in time, so that would make it so that you’d have to take it into your own hands, even if it means killing that person (in self defense).
“Life today is more difficult than it was in the 1930s” (rated it a 1.1) It is not because today we have easy access to all of our necessities, and we also have the ability to travel longer distances than in the 30s, and we even have a better understanding on how diseases affect out bodies, than we did in the 30s.
Ind. reading blog post
The book I’m reading is a book about how bad the black people and Native Americans were being treated (during the times of segregation, and after slavery was ended), and the idea I’m seeing here is that Native Americans and blacks were being treated really poorly during these times.
Injustice
In the book “The forgotten heroes,” it talks about a lot of injustice that Native Americans gone through. One was that even though the Native Americans that were part of “Black Kettle’s” village were following a treaty, he saw some soldiers saying, “Almost at the ford in the Washita, Black Kettle saw the soldiers coming and raised his hand in a gesture of peace. The soldiers shot him down and his wife with him, then splashed over their lifeless bodies and into the village, shooting as they came” (Cox 42). The fact that the village was attacked despite them following the treaty, and the fact that Black Kettle was killed despite showing peace shows the injustice the American Indians had to go through. Also the fact the soldiers stepped over their lifeless bodies further shows the kind of injustice they gone through.
Another way injustice is shown, is that the buffalo soldiers* were given horses that were either injured, or too old and “in the years to come, the unit was routinely given horses white cavalry regiments had already ruined, or rejected” (Cox 24). Which the fact that the buffalo soldiers were initially given horses that were injured or too old shows the injustice they had to go through. Also the fact that the white cavalry units were given better horses, and forcing the buffalo soldiers to choose from rejected and ruined horses further shows the injustice that was done.
(what some cavalry that consisted only of black people were called)
Technology
Yes, because most people are on their cell phone (or other devices) almost all the time. Also we rely on cars that create carbon emissions too much, which causes pollution, even though we can just convert to using electric cars.
Some benefits of technology are, being able to communicate long distances, being able to travel places that would normally take a long time, or that would normally be inaccessible. We can also get information faster, and share information over long distances.
Banned books (v2)
None
Because of language, what they depict/how they depict things, and if it insults something a country deems important.
Flight
It shows lots of violence, it has a lot of swearing, and it stereotypes/insults American Indians
Loneliness, abandonment, and crime (for some)
He swore a lot, stereotypes/insults American Indians, he sees lots of brutality
No
Theme
Violence will create guilt
“If I kill him, do I deserve to be killed by this white soldier’s family” p77 He doesn’t want to kill anyone
“I deserve whatever punishment comes my way” p81 He regrets killing the people in the bank
“I just want to stop” p88 He doesn’t want revenge anymore
Banned books
- None, because I believe it should depend on maturity, rather than age. Because some children might have read books that wouldn’t be age appropriate for them, and not repeat/do anything the book said.
2. Flight, because it shows stuff like death, has a lot of swearing, and it also would depend on the age group that’s reading it
